Dodgy Photoshop vs. Reality

55 more die.

ISRAELI attacks killed at least 55 people in Lebanon today and a UN security council vote on a resolution to end the 27-day-old conflict was delayed after Arab nations objected to the draft.

An Israeli strike on a crowded area in Shiite-dominated south Beirut destroyed a building and killed at least 15 people, rescue workers said.

At least 30 were wounded. Rescuers dug through the rubble with a bulldozer and with their hands as fire engines doused burning ruins and the charred shells of cars.

Israeli air raids killed at least 40 people in southern Lebanon and the eastern Bekaa Valley.

Well, since 40 Lebanese victims turn into 1 Lebanese victim, I'll be kind and credit you for 2 Lebanese dead.

Care to back that equation up? Nah, didn't think so. Then again you are a commenter at Gates of Vienna, so you'll have more important things to worry about than backing your argument up. Here's a tip, the tinfoil goes around your head.

I think the poster is alluding to this

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/5252842.stm

"Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora drastically revised down the death toll of an Israeli air strike in the village of Houla.

"They thought that the whole building smashed on the heads of 40 people," he told reporters in Beirut. "Thank God that they have been saved."

Yeah, he was obviously trying to fool the world there by admitting it was a mistake and all....

The death count by the way has risen to 5 and surrounding villages have been hit. The death count is somewhere around 40. Although because this may be less than originally thought, certain brainless cretins will claim a few less dead civilians as a great victory.
