Comedy Genius

Well Charlie's gone and done it. The bigoted ponytailed one has made me laugh out loud. This is worthy of The Onion.

Publius Pundit notes that those hideous polyester suits Iran made the hostages wear had an odd feature—no ties: Dressed To Mock.

I don’t believe anyone’s mentioned it yet, but there’s a reason for this; the necktie is unofficially banned in Iran, because it’s considered a Christian symbol. This was another sly way of sticking it to the Brits, and a message to the Iranian masses at the same time.
I'm sure all Brits are reeling from the sight of their sailors without neckties. Yep, they really stuck it to the Brits by denying them a good Windsor knot.

How dare they? What next? A ban on bowler hats?

The idiocy continues in the comments, while some run against the chief lizard's line (wonder how long they will last), #55 cbinflux seems to wish that they ahd been beheaded:

"H'mm? This is a war, and either way lives were in the balance. I truly think that they just cost far more than 15 allied lives.

Losing their heads would have shown the world what we're up against in Iran; being propaganda tools just recruited more terrorists.

We are virtually all saying "let's get on with the debriefing" (and perhaps hold the champagne)."

I don't get it.

I have a 'WATCH' site.

The reason for it is that the subject of the 'watch' is somewhat secretive, hidden from view. It's actions are not all 'out there', or open to scrutiny. Hence, the 'watch' can, or is intended to, inform, advise, alert.

But LGF is WIDE OPEN to everyone.

Why would we 'watch' here, when we can watch the site for ourselves?

And, since you are talking about comedy, come on, you have to admit, CJ's comments are much funnier and more drole than yours!

I mean, the punchline about bowler hats .. it's a bit embarrassing really!

PS Doesn't labelling people with names such as "racist" and "bigot" make you equally prejudiced, intolerant and bigoted?]

...hence the limitations on commenting and the 'lizard lounge'.

Are you that stupid not to have picked up on the ironic headline? Let me spell it out for you. 'Comedy Genius' is an ironic title because the post is about a humourless buffoon who gets his kicks and his cash from being a bigot.

Doesn't labelling people with names such as "racist" and "bigot" make you equally prejudiced, intolerant and bigoted?

Umm, not if they are 'bigots' or 'racists'. Nice logic you've got there. Ask the nurse for less meds.

I wonder if there is a middle-eastern version of Chuckles who is angry at American's lack of beards and mustaches because they hate Muhammad.

Anon,

'How To Win Friends and Influence People' ... NOT!

You will never persuade anyone of the righteousness of your cause by using the debating technique and sophistication of the gutter.

I think it is YOU who is really missing the irony .. however, I won't reciprocate by calling you too "stupid" to catch on.

In fact, I actually don't think you are "stupid" .. just wrong.

That's one of the big differences between the Left and the Right.

We think you are wrong, gullible, naive and foolish .. but sincere.

You think we are bigots, racist, evil, liars etc.

So carry on hurling your insults.

You may win your own little battle.

But you refuse to even acknowledge the real war we are in.

And of course, whatever 'you' .. Mr Anonymous .. might say in response to this is utterly lost, because, hiding behind anonymity, we will have no way of knowing if it is 'you' some other anonymous sniper.

Charles was off in his own little world on this (again)--but it is important to note that, according to the Geneva Convention, prisoners are to be kept in military uniform both when in custody and when released. So while the malicious lack of ties is absurd, the lack of uniform is, indeed, troublesome.

Alcohol, Hinduism, R'n'B, Pictures of Religious Prophets, Criticism of Religion, Self Defense against Rape, Homosexuallity, Sexual Equality under Law. All kinds of repressing law - sometimes it is better to highlight absurdity, instead of despair at Irans legal brutishness.
