Charles Johnson's twisted mind

Either Charles Johnson can't read, or he's lying.

Under the headline "Kos Kidz Call LGF 'Salubrious and Uplifting'" Johnson whines about something someone at Daily Kos wrote about his site. What that person actually said was

"Now humorous, now sad, a trip to LGF is a journey into the heart of darkness; for me, it is salubrious and uplifting to remind myself just how low a discourse can sink, and how far from that nadir we remain, even at our lowest moments."
And this is the man who praises those who call the media 'deceptive'.

Do you have problems with English?

Read Charles' headline and then compare it to the text you moron.

No, anon #1 had it right. CJ quoted the complete paragraph. Including "salubrious and uplifting" in the headline seems to me to be a piece of intended irony. "Why would Daily Kos call LGF 'salubrious and uplifting'?" one has to ask on reading the headline. Then you read the paragraph. Ah. Makes sense.

"seems to be intended irony"

lol. well done. 10/10. Idiot overload.

The headline and the text were at complete odds, the fact that the headline claimed that LGF was something and then the text was completely different isn't ironic you idiot, it just meant Chuck read it wrong.

Go back to the lizards and discuss the next apocalypse or something....leave irony and joined together thinking to those that can manage it.

PS Why do you people have such a hard time with irony?

"leave irony and joined together thinking..."

That's a real blue-ribbon collocution you have there, brother. Thanks for the model of superior intelligence to help us slack-jawed apocalyptists raise our IQ over the double digit threshold.

Look, this is painfully simple. Kos writer calls the experience of reflecting on LGF's "low level of discourse" "salubrious and uplifting." Charles quotes said text in an update to an earlier post and excerpts the words "salubrious and uplifting" for an augmented headline.

Now, either CJ is so mind-bogglingly stupid that he thought the Kos writer was praising him; or, he is so deceptive, he wrenched the words out of context expecting the casual reader to think the Kos writer was sincerely praising him (despite quoting the original paragraph in its entirety)...

...or, like most Internet rivals in an escalating war of words, he mined the invective for a little ironic humor.

I'll go with the option that doesn't require the assumption that CJ thinks and speaks like a cartoon villain.

Unfortunately both of these accusations against CJ are supported by his blog posts. There is another option - that CJ thinks his own readers are stupid and easily-deceived. The comments thread on that post show that they aren't easily deceived, although the stupidity shines through.
