Trevor Phillips, chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) has said,
Muslims must accept that freedom of speech is central to Britishness and should be preserved even if it offends people...then continues to say....
"We have one set of laws. They are decided on by one group of people, members of Parliament, and that's the end of the story....Wow! That freedom of speech didn't last long did it? As much as I object to Shariah Law being tolerated in Britain, I would defend the right of any person to argue for it freely without censor and without the classic racist line of "If you don't love it, leave it".
"Anybody who lives here has to accept that's the way we do it. If you want to have laws decided in another way, you have to live somewhere else,"
I'd expect that from the head of the BNP or your average LGF 'lizard', but not the head of the CRE.

I also thought that 'all' the people had a say in the laws, not just one group.
Er at least I thought that's the perception democracy likes to perpetuate.
