Reader Ian points us to this Crooks & Liars post. Surely now it's time for Charles to admit that McCain is a terrorist sympathiser, no?

Ignorance is bliss - when you're a lizard
"Ignorant mockery is the new leftist flavor of the month—it’s the perfect substitute for honest debate!" - Charles Johnson post on LGF, May 29, 2008.
"I suspect Barack Obama of being almost completely ignorant of world history" - Charles Johnson post on LGF, May 28, 2008.
"Breaking: Celebrity Not Nuts" - headline above an LGF post by Charles Johnson containing seven words of original content, implying that people who endorse Obama or Clinton are "nuts", May 22, 2008.
- Charles Johnson's idea of "honest debate" when his wild-eyed conspiracy theories are challenged at FARK.

Four degrees of separation
Wow, that's citizen journalism: A book written by a former White House press secretary was published by a company that is owned by a company that is linked to one of the richest men in the world who happens to be a Bush critic!
Pulitzer!
Instead of saying something substantial about the book ("Bush-bashing" doesn't count), CJ establishes some tenuous conspiracy that is supposed to undermine anything McClellan might have written. That's the GOP message machine in action, make no mistake.

Obama smear-o-matic
Is there anything Charles Johnson will not do in order to smear Obama in any friggin way possible? Apparently not, even if it means reverting to a blatant logical fallacy.

Obama: Bush is Responsible for Chavez (Bzzt! Wrong!)
On Friday Barack Obama spelled out his Latin America policy (it’s just like his Middle East policy—talk to everybody), and inadvertently supplied another example of his stunning ignorance of history and naive foreign policy ideas. The speech is transcribed at the official Obama campaign web site: Renewing U.S. Leadership in the Americas."Since the Bush Administration launched a misguided war in Iraq, its policy in the Americas has been negligent toward our friends, ineffective with our adversaries, disinterested in the challenges that matter in peoples’ lives, and incapable of advancing our interests in the region. This is pathetic. Hugo Chavez came to power during the Clinton Administration, and was first elected President of Venezuela in 1998, two years before the Bush Administration took office.
No wonder, then, that demagogues like Hugo Chavez have stepped into this vacuum."
I don't exactly follow.. Obama never said anything about Bush being responsible for Chavez' election, but rather that Bush's policies have exacerbated the situation between the US and the Venezuelan Leader, as written in the trascript (which you might as well read in its entirety):
No wonder, then, that demagogues like Hugo Chavez have stepped into this vacuum. His predictable yet perilous mix of anti-American rhetoric, authoritarian government, and checkbook diplomacy offers the same false promise as the tried and failed ideologies of the past. But the United States is so alienated from the rest of the Americas that this stale vision has gone unchallenged, and has even made inroads from Bolivia to Nicaragua. And Chavez and his allies are not the only ones filling the vacuum. While the United States fails to address the changing realities in the Americas, others from Europe and Asia – notably China – have stepped up their own engagement. Iran has drawn closer to Venezuela, and just the other day Tehran and Caracas launched a joint bank with their windfall oil profits.Sounds a lot different than saying: "Bush came into power, and BAM, the Venezuelans elected Chavez because of that". Who does he think he's fooling?
(...)And we know that freedom across our hemisphere must go beyond elections. In Venezuela, Hugo Chavez is a democratically elected leader. But we also know that he does not govern democratically. He talks of the people, but his actions just serve his own power. Yet the Bush Administration's blustery condemnations and clumsy attempts to undermine Chavez have only strengthened his hand.
But that wasn't all from the lizard king..
UPDATE at 5/25/08 9:15:04 am:
This is far from the first time Barack Obama has been wrong about a simple historical fact.
I’d like to hear him answer some simple questions about world history, to see exactly how much he really does know. No blow-dried media talking head will ever do this, of course, but I suspect people would be in for a real shock if they knew the depths of his historical ignorance.
Examples, Charlie? One would be nice, and would show you actually give a rat's arse about factual accuracy of your statements..

Charles Johnson's child abuse
According to Charles Johnson, if your father was a Muslim then you're born a Muslim.
According to Charles Johnson, if you're born a Muslim then you're always a Muslim.
According to Charles Johnson, if you're a Muslim then you're an ally of Osama bin Laden.
No kidding. CJ doesn't even try to hide what he thinks in this one.
Nice to see the plump defender of the West dispense with reason and Enlightenment values and choose instead a line of thinking that would make the looniest mufti proud.

LGF Trots?
Was this person too dumb even for LGF?
LGFers are typical neocon leftists. I wouldn't expect them to engage in any kind of debate. To them moralistic name-calling is a tactic. Truth is of no interest to the Trotskyites at LGF, Pajamas, and the Weekly Standard. They are not interested in facts so why bother with them at all?Brussels Journal comment section moron 'Johnny Canuck'.

Twisting news around
CJ is certainly well-known (almost notorious) for his achingly long articles that strike everything right to the point and sport a magical kind of honesty and informativity hardly seen elsewhere on the intertubes.
Take his last 18-word epos:
http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/29907_Arab_League_Condemns_Hizballah
In this piece he was quoting an even more massive 25-word article from YNet News in its entirety, something almost never observed anywhere amongst quotes from the lizard king.
And now you can go ahead and search for any inconsistencies between the two pieces. In other words: Guess which statement Chuckles pulled out of his own derrière (which his little green sheep squad gladly swallowed):
The Arab League has condemned Hizballah for using weapons.
Because they weren’t using those weapons to kill Jews. (<- Could it be this one? Hm.. - ed.)"The Arab League condemned Hizbullah for using its weapons within Lebanese territory. The League’s foreign ministers who gathered in Cairo, called for an immediate ceasefire."

Ignoring the 48-hour rule (Updated)
Charles "Chuckles" Johnson, senior political expert and veteran neo-journalist writes:
Got a Big Al Qaeda Fish in Iraq
Thu, May 8, 2008 at 2:49:49 pm PST
Not completely confirmed but looking good: Leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq Arrested in Mosul.
BAGHDAD — The leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Ayyub al-Masri, was arrested in the northern city of Mosul, the Iraqi Defense Ministry spokesman said Thursday.
Spokesman Mohammed al-Askari said the arrest of al-Masri, also known as Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, was confirmed to him by the Iraqi commander of the province. There was no immediate confirmation or comment from U.S. forces on the arrest.
The U.S. military in Baghdad said “we are currently checking with Iraqi authorities to confirm the accuracy of this information.”
Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Abdul-Karim Khalaf said that Mosul police “arrested one of Al Qaeda’s leaders at midnight and during the primary investigations he admitted that he is Abu Hamza Al-Muhajir.”

Source: Fox News. If you read the full article however you'd notice that even it is too skeptical of the information provided to be taken as the Gospel.
Shortly afterwards on BBC news:
Iraq al-Qaeda chief not captured
The United States military in Iraq says a man detained in the northern city of Mosul is not in fact the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq.
An earlier statement from the Iraqi defence ministry said that al-Masri had been captured.
But an American military spokeswoman, Peggy Kageleiry, said Abu Ayyub al-Masri had not been arrested.
She said confusion had arisen because a man with a similar name to the al-Qaeda in Iraq leader had been detained.
Al-Qaeda in Iraq has been blamed for or has claimed responsibility for some of the bloodiest insurgent attacks in Iraq since the US-led invasion in 2003.
Members of al-Qaeda are believed to have regrouped in the northern city since the beginning of the US troops "surge" last year.
Al-Masri is believed to have helped Abu Musab al-Zarqawi form the first al-Qaeda cell in Baghdad. Zarqawi was killed in June 2006.
In April 2007, he was named "minister of war" in the 10-man cabinet of the Islamic State of Iraq, an umbrella organisation of Sunni militant groups.
Whoops.. Any bets up to when or whether he'll post an update?
//UPDATE: The lizard king has posted an update on the matter (http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/29886_False_Alarm-_Not_Al-Masri). It's possible that he owes it to LGF Watch for pointing it out long in advance.. *waves*.. But then again, maybe not, so we'll never know..

Wishful thinking backfires?
CJ asks: "Blue Collar Voters Bailing on Obama in IN and NC?"
Woops. Obama won NC and lost IN by a massive 2 points. Though you wouldn't know it from LGF cos Charles didn't think it worth updating his readers on the final results.

Stepping on flags
Charles Johnson is breathlessly reporting on former underground terrorist Bill Ayers desecrating an American flag by "proudly stepping" on in, smearing Barack Obama in the process, because.. You know..
"Ayers was tapped by Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley to shape that city's now nationally-renowned school reform program.[12] Since 1999 he has served on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago, an anti-poverty, philanthropic foundation established in 1941. This became controversial in the 2008 United States presidential election as Barack Obama had served on the board until 2002, with overlapping times of service with Ayers.[13] (Wikipedia)z0mG, Ayers is des3cr4ting t3h flAg f00, DON'T VOTE FOR OBAMA!!!11!1onefour!
( Link: http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/29845_Obamas_Employer_Desecrated_Flag )
Well, talking about proudly stepping on flags, we could also go on with a game of "smearing by association" that we however will not play at this point..

Wikid Manipulation
Here's a nasty story of Wikipedia entry manipulation for political gain - something CJ himself has been a victim of in the past! How did Charles miss it? Could it be that he doesn't think it's worth mentioning because one of his arch-enemies is the victim, and his political allies the perpetrators?
Interesting to note that once again all reference to LGF Watch has disappeared from LGF's Wikipedia entry. We're not whining, just a little bit surprised at the tenacity with which the lizards try to airbrush us off the Web. Then again, what else have those pimply wingnuts got to do with their time....?
