Hypocrisy thy name is Charles Johnson

Surely, any reasonable person can see the the hypocrisy involved in this cut and paste job by Charles? Surely?

Charles Johnson complaining about the BBC allowing a racist to post mis-representative rants about the Talmud is about as hypocritical as one person can get, considering his band of comment section bigots get to post whatever rubbish they like about the Qu'ran and Muslims in general without so much of a whimper from Chuckles.

Has Charles Johnson any shame?

I should point out that comments on a blog are slightly different than the choice of commentator on the religious scriptures of a group of people that has suffered quite a lot because of misrepresentation and racism. Not defending very much, just want people to mind the different contexts here.

Comments on an online forum that misrepresent a religion are much like comments on another online entity that do very much the same.

You can't get on your high horse about something if you're guilty of pretty much the same thing.

LGF commenters have been using misinterpretations and downright lies to demonise Islam for years.

"Comments on an online forum that misrepresent a religion are much like comments on another online entity that do very much the same."

Aha, I was not aware the Talmud coverage was online and not on television. But doesn't the BBC have alleged standards of objectivity, balance and respect? Especially when it is so closely tied to the British state? At least LGF has an expressed desire to cover as many rumors/news/fabrications/stories/anecdotes as possible to work up violence and misunderstandings against Islam in general...

"You can't get on your high horse about something if you're guilty of pretty much the same thing." Okay, but once again it's about what is said and what is not. LGF proudly states subjectivity and slant. The BBC is obliged not to hire people who have clout in misrepresentation and slant in order to cover a touchy subject, no?

"LGF commenters have been using misinterpretations and downright lies to demonise Islam for years." Yes, but where does it say it has a purpose to reveal the objective truth? Naturally their collective self-delusion gives them a pretense of honor and objectivity, but isn't the BBC betraying it's self-prescribed mission when it let's a man devoted to spin and misrepresentation deal with a touchy subject that affects British citizens?

At least BBC should make sure readers are aware of the man's history so that his coverage becomes less harmful - counterpunch.org does that...

LGF should just have a permanent headline, Breaking: Boogie Man Found Under Bed. Today's is "Breaking: Missile Launcher Discovered in New Jersey". Too bad for the LGF wingnuts going apeface over it that this war toy can be bought from any army surplus store, and it's a one-use ABF (Already Been Fired) -- about as dangerous to a plane as an empty spraypaint can is to a wall.

I've come to like LGF for its sheer comedy.

The point isn't about the BBC (who were wrong in this case) but the sheer hypocrisy of Charles Johnson in castigating somebody else for allowing bigoted filth on their online presence.

If I had a dime for every different lie they've spread about Islam, my food supplies would be covered for a week.

Sometimes I wonder if Chuckles is just having a laugh. Then again, probably not.

re: #29 WrathofG-d

WOW now here is a real touchy subject.

Should they really have been put in jail just for what they said?

I imagine that most here on LGF say YES. But Wrath is very much so on the fence.

Nice to have a real topic & possible debate on LGF again though.

There is a difference between expressing an opinion, and actively fomenting violence against a group or a government. If I stated that I wouldn't cross the street to piss on a moslem on fire, that's a very different idea from saying that we should drop a molotov on that same moslem."

And then as a response:

thats agreat Idea!

drop a molitov cocktail on them, and then piss on em

"corrupt organization with no accountability whatsoever"

Oh dear. That's two mistakes about the BBC Charles makes in the opening paragraph!

And using Melanie Phillips as a reference for an attack on the BBC is a bit like going to Stormfront for "evidence" that Jews are plotting to take over the world.

Seek wider sources Charles or forever be damned as a lazy, racist, hypocritical shit stirrer.
