No shit, Sherlock!

This comes as no surprise to people with a brain....

Poor prewar planning left the United States without enough skilled workers to efficiently rebuild Iraq's economy and public works, according to a report issued Monday.

The study by the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction provided a new explanation for the lagging reconstruction effort. Surveys by the Bush administration and congressional auditors have blamed insurgent attacks and the high cost of security.

Thanks to inadequate planning, the report said, early occupation officials lacked enough reconstruction staffers who knew what they were doing.
The incompetence of the Bush administration is truly flabbergasting. Maybe justdanny should write a letter.

A figure and a war, invisible to LGF'ers

1300. That's how many Iraqi's have lost their lives in the past week according to the Washington Post. That's a figure you won't see on LGF anytime soon. Finding mention of the Iraq War is hard enough (unless of course Pajamas Media is still shilling for the 'WMD's existed' crowd or copy and pasting Victor Davis Hanson bullshit).

Military judge delays Abu Ghraib trial

WASHINGTON -- A military judge on Monday delayed for more than two months the start of a court martial for an Army dog handler in the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal in Iraq.

Sgt. Santos A. Cardona, 31, of Fullerton, Calif., is charged with dereliction of duty and maltreatment of detainees. The judge in the case, Marine Lt. Col. Paul McConnell, moved the court martial starting date from March 8 to May 22 to give the defense more time to prepare.

If convicted, Cardona faces up to 16 1/2 years in prison.

Another dog handler who faces a court martial, Army Sgt. Michael Smith, told investigators in February 2004 that he and Cardona used their unmuzzled dogs to help the military intelligence unit with interrogations.

Last year at a hearing for the two dog handlers, the former warden of the Iraqi prison testified that Maj. Gen. Geoffrey D. Miller, the commander in charge of Guantanamo Bay prison, visited Abu Ghraib in 2003 and recommended the use of military dogs during interrogations.

"We understood that he was sent over by the secretary of defense," Maj. David Dinenna testified.

Guess who?

Who wrote this charming little piece (which borders upon accusing US foreign policy of a kind of blood libel)?

Jewish blood MUST lubricate American machinations in the ME. It is anxiomatic (sic) of American ME policy - deluded as it is.

The faster Iraq spirals the drain, and the more at risk the sauid (sic) fields become, the greater the need for Israeli blood to flow.

Was it....

(a) one of Rabbi Meir Kahane's disciples?

(b) Fred Phelps (the most un-Christian Christian ever)?

(c) David Duke (all-round whackjob nazi)?

or...

(d) An LGF regular?

Answer: An LGF regular (Due to Charles "Freedom of Speech" Johnson's hilarious redirect of links to his site, you'll have to copy and paste the link).

UPDATE: Editied to be more relevant to those from the US.

If you don't love it, leave

Trevor Phillips, chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) has said,

Muslims must accept that freedom of speech is central to Britishness and should be preserved even if it offends people
...then continues to say....

"We have one set of laws. They are decided on by one group of people, members of Parliament, and that's the end of the story.

"Anybody who lives here has to accept that's the way we do it. If you want to have laws decided in another way, you have to live somewhere else,"
...Wow! That freedom of speech didn't last long did it? As much as I object to Shariah Law being tolerated in Britain, I would defend the right of any person to argue for it freely without censor and without the classic racist line of "If you don't love it, leave it".

I'd expect that from the head of the BNP or your average LGF 'lizard', but not the head of the CRE.

Reuters: Proud sponsor of PJMedia

So now Pajamas Media is taking the filthy lucre from Reuters - or should it be al-Reuters, as Charles so frequently insists?

Either this indicates a serious lack of principle on the part of the MSM-bashing 'new media revolutionaries' at PJM, or they're so desparate for cash they'll take anyone.

Just remember kids, advertisers will withdraw as soon as they smell trouble. Don't go offending them now, will you...

Bush library? That must be like the Pamela Anderson convent.....

It seems the UAE gave $1 million to the Bush library, I wonder how much gnashing of teeth that will inspire within the rank and file of the 'lizards' at LGF.

A Minion Writes To The Commander

In this heartbreaking post from Lizardoid "justdanny", the former Bushie loyalist writes of his shattered dreams and sense of betrayal:

I'm no longer a President Bush supporter
Heres a copy of an email I just sent to the White House.

Mr President

I have fought for you tooth and nail untill now. But following your support for the government of UAE to own and operate our ports, I can no longer support you.

In this war on terror, you have just set us back further than any gains we have made up till now.

While I supported you I was a proud boisterous supporter. Now I feel betrayed and sickened. You hand the keys to our country to the as sick brother of our enemy. Hundreds of thousands if not hundreds of millions will suffer for this error you have made.

You gave the keys to the equally deranged brother of our enemy, and for this I can no longer support you as my President.

You cant undo this Sir. Its symbolic of something about you that I can no longer trust. And my heart is absolutley broken.

You were my first President. The first person for whom I ever voted. I have a feeling you dont care about those like me who have fought tooth and nail to support you. I think now you will try to shame us into accepting and supporting this horrible decision. It wont work Sir, we are running away from you at a speed much greater than the power you have to explain this one away.

I would ask you to reverse your decision to sell our ports to our enemy, but I doubt you would listen.

Danny [redacted]

My President is not the friend of Americas enemies
It's a brave first step back to the reality-based community. Congratulations "justdanny"!

UPDATE: This post has been "scrubbed" from justdanny's blog. Clearly, he stepped over the line in speaking so badly of The Commander and was in danger of being banned from LGF by Charles, who brooks no disrepect. Banning would be intolerable for justdanny, who has sewn LGF patches on all his clothes.

POP QUIZ: What do minion "Iron Fist" and Vice-President Cheney have in common? (Apart from being torture enthusiasts).

UPDATE 2: Welcome, people from Atrios!

UPDATE 3: justdanny's now-scrubbed letter to The Commander is cached here. Thanks to reader P.S. for the link.

UPDATE 4: Justdanny has asked us (via comments) to conceal his identity. We're more than happy to oblige.

UPDATE 5: Welcome to the folks coming over from Crooks & Liars!

Update 6: Reader SC has kindly taken a snapshop (see right) of the cached post, lest Google ever scrub it too. After all, this document could be regarded by future historians as crucial historic evidence of the minions turning against their leader!

UPDATE 7: Welcome visitors from Cursor.org, hope your stay is a pleasant one.

UPDATE 8: Roll up, roll up! Plenty more blogs are lining up to laugh at justdanny and his 'first President' post. You'll all get your turn, stand in line....

Well done, the blogger

A blogger has done some proper investigative work and got hold of an important document relating to the US decision to attack Iraq. Eat your heart out, Charles 'Word Document' Johnson...

Charles's little red ken problem

Charles Johnson relays the news of Ken Livingstone's suspension as Mayor of London for four weeks, and even provides his minions with a few nudges as to how they're supposed to feel about it ("ugly antisemitic comments", "certainly deserves censure", "support for Islamofascist ... much more dangerous"). Fine. The adjudication panel never said Ken's comments were anti-semitic, merely hurtful, but we can all agree they were inappropriate and stupid.

Problem is, that's what a lot of people said about the Danish Mohammed cartoons Charles has been making such a hoo-ha about, decrying anybody who finds them offensive as the vanguard of Islamofascism and a dangerous threat to free speech. When it comes to insulting Jewish journalists though, Charles is strangely anti-(drunken) free speech.

Of course, Charles is free to spout whatever he likes on his 'weblog'. But he shouldn't be surprised if a lot of people don't take him very seriously anymore...

Things You Won't Read On LGF (a Bushworld Subsidiary)

Charles "Squeaky" Johnson gingerly cut-n-pastes on the "hand the ports to the U.A.E" lunacy, being careful not to say anything bad about the Closer-In-Chief. The Angels don't like that.

For the average minion, avidly reading LGF, some reassurance might come from being told the decision was carefully reviewed by a super-duper double secret committee made up of senior administration officials, like, for example, the Secretary Of Defense. As Chertoff said:

SEC. CHERTOFF: We don't take a risk. What we do is we require a very careful review —we have the FBI involved, we have the Department of Defense involved —of what the challenges are..."
Phew. Well, that's okay then. And of all the departments involved, knowing that Defense has carefully reviewed the matter and signed off on it should make us all sleep easier.

Uh-oh:
SEC. RUMSFELD: "I am reluctant to make judgments based on the minimal amount of information I have, because I just heard about this over the weekend..."

Well, heck. Anyone can miss a meeting, right?

UPDATE. It seems The Commander didn't know anything about the U.A.E. takeover of 6 major U.S. ports either:

By TED BRIDIS, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - President Bush was unaware of the pending sale of shipping operations at six major U.S. seaports to a state-owned business in the United Arab Emirates until the deal already had been approved by his administration, the White House said Wednesday.
In this article, Press Secretary McClellan says this:
"The president made sure to check with all the Cabinet secretaries that are part of this process, or whose agencies or departments are part of this process," the spokesman said. "He made sure to check with them — even after this got more attention in the press, to make sure that they were comfortable with the decision that was made."

"And every one of the Cabinet secretaries expressed that they were comfortable with this transaction being approved," he said.
Except Rumsfeld, as quoted above, didn't say anything like that. Ooops.

UPDATE #2... From "cleter" commenting at FDL:
In the Nov 6 Independent on Sunday (London) was this little tidbit:Dubai
International Capital, also gov't owned, "has invested $ 100m in a Carlyle
fund."

How cosy! Carlyle is, of course, a Bushworld Enteprise. So don't expect Squeaky Johnson to comment on this.

With friends like Cathy.....

Well if a member of Pajamas Media says Chuckles doesn't run a hate site it must be true.

Thanks to Cathy Seipp for her much-appreciated words of support at National Review Online, responding to a hit piece on yours truly that appeared in Los Angeles magazine: Catherine Seipp: Los Locos.
Mmmm, were the words of support in aid of a friend or business associate who's site offends potential advertisers?
If that makes him a racist hater, then I suppose Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the Somali refugee and Dutch politician whose campaign against Islam’s mistreatment of women means she now needs round-the-clock armed protection, is also a racist hater.
Did she really just compare him to Ayaan Hirsi Ali? Goebbels would be a closer match.

What a laughable attempt. Next time you get somebody to write you a glowing endorsement Charles, try somebody who isn't closely associated to your business venture, somebody who has nothing to gain something from backing you, somebody who doesn't write such drivel.

Wake Up, Minions...

The Bush administration dismissed the security concerns of local officials yesterday and restated its approval of a deal that will give a company based in Dubai a major role in operating ports in and around New York City.
Not surprisingly, Charles hasn't posted about the latest extremely bad decision made by the Bush Junta. As a skilled propagandist in the employ of the Bushies (one way or another), Johnson ignores any news that proves his personal hero is a raving loon and dangerous incompetent. The Minions may force him into some mealy-mouthed acknowledgment of this latest perfidy, but the fact LGF's hyperactive "outrage" needle hasn't so much as twitched, demonstrates perfectly how Squeaky Johnson earns his spurs as a Bush loyalist first, concerned US citizen way way behind.

#182 Charles 4/28/2005 5:51:00 PM I can't believe I once bought into the nonsense that Bush is "stupid." I think he's doing really well. He has good answers ready for every issue and delivers them with conviction.
Concerned Minions should head over to Daily Kos for an adult appreciation of this latest threat to our national security.

The Clash of Civilisations betrayal

Johann Hari comments on an important movement treated badly by the media, ignored by racists and betrayed by governments. Moderate Islam.

Seventeen years ago, the streets of Westminster and Bradford filled with smoke and shrieks as Muslim protestors threatened to “burn alive” a man who had dared to use his freedom of speech in a way they disliked. On the surface, it seems like little has changed since the Salman Rushdie affair, when a theocratic dictator demanded the slaughter of perhaps our greatest novelist and much of the democratic world equivocated. Once again, artists are driven into hiding in a liberal democracy for apparently insulting Islam. Once again, most of the democratic world resorts to a “yes… but…” non-defence of freedom. But this time there is a difference – an inspirational difference.

This time, moderate Muslims are fighting back. Slowly, steadily, a stream of heroic Muslims are standing up, loudly refusing to be defined by fanaticism and death-threats. In Jordan, the newspaper editor Jihad Momani has risked his life to publish the cartoons alongside an editorial demanding, “What brings more prejudice against Islam, these caricatures or pictures of a hostage-taker slashing the throat of his victim in front of the cameras or a suicide bomber who blows himself up during a wedding ceremony in Amman?”

And across Britain, Muslim women are refusing to bow to fundamentalists who believe beheading is a legitimate form of literary criticism. While criticising the cartoons of Mohammed as “distasteful”, Fareena Alam, editor of the Q News, damned the protestors, demanding to know “what the parents of the child wearing the ‘I love Al-Quaeda’ cap would say had their son been on the number 30 bus that terrible day.” At a massive conference of young Muslims organised by Fareena last week, one speaker said the way for Muslims to express their faith was “to mobilise to end the conflict in Congo, or to make generic Aids drugs available where they are not”, to roof-raising cheers. Sairah Khan, the Muslim near-winner of the Apprentice, said the ‘Death to Freedom’ protestors were “far, far worse” than the cartoonists, adding “If you don’t like it here, go and live somewhere else.”

The right are busy hyping this fight as a Clash of Civilisations between democracy and Islam – but that is a betrayal of democratic Muslims like Jihad and Fareena and Sairah. This is a clash within Islam between democrats and totalitarians, and demonising all Muslims is a racist, foolish way to ensure the wrong side wins. Religions are not inert, homogenous blocks; they are elastic, and they stretch and shift shape over time. The British Muslim community is genuinely divided, as a recent Populus opinion poll proved: some 12 percent of Muslims my age believe suicide-murder in this country can “sometimes” be justified and 34 percent believe British Jews are “a legitimate target”, although at the other end of the spectrum more than half of British Muslims believe Israel has a right to exist. These are much better than the figures at the time of the Rushdie affair, showing that Muslim opinion is in flux – and can be swayed by persuasive argument.

Only a fierce, fighting moderate Islam can win this struggle. In France’s Muslim ghettoes, an amazing movement of Muslim women called "Ni putes ni soumises" (neither whores nor doormats) has risen up, initially to fight against the epidemic of domestic violence in their communities but increasingly to craft a liberal – even feminist – brand of Islam. In the past fortnight, we have seen the first stirrings from their British sisters.

I live round the corner from the East London mosque, and most weekends there are stalls of jihadists perched outside, preaching sharia law and suicide-slaughter. However tempting it might seem, I don’t want to see these young men driven underground (or Underground) through censorship and the introduction of thought-crimes like the government’s mooted ban on “glorifying terrorism”. I want to see every one of their stalls matched by a stall of feisty Muslim women like Sairah and Fareena, ridiculing their bizarre beliefs and manifest sexual inadequacy, and offering young Muslims a different and better brand of Islam. Don’t suppress the battle within Islam – let’s have it out on the open and on the streets, led by amazing Muslim women like Fareena and Sairah.

A condemnation and an invitation

Hmmmmm, must be some kind of trick, I mean why would Muslims condemn President Ahmadinejad for disparaging the Holocaust. Even going as far as daring him to visit Auschwitz. Well it would seem like that if you were a denizen of the stinking swamps of the LGF comments section, because as they've stated before, there are no moderate Muslims.

A Muslim cultural institute in Germany on Monday criticized Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad for disparaging the Holocaust, daring him to visit the Auschwitz concentration camp.

“In this place of horror he can again deny the Holocaust, if he has the courage,” a spokesman for the Islam-Archiv-Deutschland Central Institute told the German Catholic press agency KNA.

In recent statements, the hardline Iranian president has dismissed the Nazis’ systematic slaughter of mainland Europe’s Jews as a “myth” used to justify the creation of Israel and called for the state to be “wiped off the map”.

By denying the Holocaust, Ahmadinejad not only denigrated the Jewish victims of the genocide but also the 200,000 Roms and Arabs murdered in the “gypsy camp” of Auschwitz-Birkenau and other camps, the institute spokesman said.

The fact that the president of an Islamic state repeated Nazi anti-Semitism was harmful to the image of Islam and “a disgrace for all the world’s Muslims”, he added.

Return of the 'not torture' meme

New pictures of prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib have turned up, and Charles has the following to say about them:

Abu Ghraib, the Endless Hamster Wheel

Here’s a shock: New Abu Ghraib abuse photos anger Arabs.

Indeed. When the first pictures appeared back in early 2004, Charles Johnson dismissed what he saw as "not torture".

How long is he going to keep up the pretense that this kind of treatment of prisoners does not constitute torture?

A Question For Glenn Reynolds

Prodded by increasingly potent leftist bloggers, Glenn Reynolds is forced to address Ann "Raghead" Coulter's CPAC debacle (or lovefest):

To win this war, we need to kill the people who want to kill us. But we need to win over the rest. The terrorists of Al Qaeda want to polarize things so that it appears to be a war of Christianity against Islam, of America and the West against all Arabs and Muslims. With remarks like those, she's helping their cause, not ours. Call it "objectively pro-terrorist".
Leaving aside Reynold's proven defective notion you can "win over" people by killing a bunch of them, he makes a good point: those who pump up the volume with racist rhetoric and eliminationist fantasies are exactly helping the real terrorists. In fact, those terrorists were counting on it.

So Reynolds has this to say about Ann Coulter, that she's "objectively pro-terrorist". But, um, he works for Charles Johnson, as part of Charles Johnson's fishy "Open Pajamas" operation. Johnson also runs "Little Green Footballs", a hyperactive 24/7 Muslim, Islam and Arab bashing blogathon, home to some of the finest Jihadist recruiting material west of Tora-Bora.

When will Reynolds point out that Charles Johnson and LGF are "objectively pro-terrorist"? Using the Coulter example and being "objective" about LGF, how can he not?

When Irish eyes are rolling

The Saint over at The Dossing Times picks up Charles and the Little Green Fascists on their recent attack on Mary McAleese (for the crime of condemning both the cartoons of Mohammed and the violence being committed as a result). It seems we're not the only ones who marvel at the stupidity of the 'Lizards' Here are the comments that The Saint picked out:

"you ignorant biotch"
"She doesn't mean it, the infidel tart".
"CAN WE START BOMBING THESE IRISH BASTARDS NOW?"
"Oh, well. What do you expect from Nazi sympathizers? the Irish, I mean. They hated England so much they sided with Hitler in WW II."
He also notices that the 'Lizards' are using Loyalist sites for their source of 'facts'. With the recent amount of attention paid by other wingnuts to the BNP and other European extremists this comes as no surprise to us. Anyway, as The Saint points out using Loyalist sites to demonise and argue against the Republic of Ireland "is a bit like using www.hamas.com for facts on Israel.".

Winners and losers

Congratulations Chuckie!

Little Green Footballs has won two awards in the Jewish and Israeli Blog Awards! This is some achievement for someone who is neither Jewish or Israeli. Well done Chuck and special praise must be given to Aussie Dave who ran such an open and coherant competition (basically anyone who wasn't Jewish or Israeli could enter as long as they were 'advocating Israel', i.e. shilling for the Israeli right wing and being part of Pajamas Media).

Our sympathies and comiseration to Jewish and Israeli (and non-Jewish and Israeli) who didn't win. Or come to think of it every blog on the net who didn't win. It must've been a crushing blow.

Cry me a frickin' river

Chuckles is pissed off...

It seems someone at New York Magazine has described him as running a 'rabidly conservative warblog'. I wonder where they got that idea from?

New York Magazine is featuring blogs on their cover; on this page they refer to LGF as a “rabidly conservative warblog,” and make sure to point out the anonymous LGF stalkers’ blog as well. No mention is made of LGF’s key role in debunking the phony CBS National Guard documents.
To be fair to Chuckie, his displeasure isn't aimed at New York Magazine's (accurate) description of his festering hateful site. He's more pissed that Daily Kos got a better review and is more recognised (oh, and the fact that they mentioned us).

Daily Kos, on the other hand, despite his loathsome statement about four murdered American contractors (sounds like they were fixing the roads or something doesn't it? Actually they were mercenaries - Ed) in Fallujah (...“Screw them”), gets the pedestal treatment
Someone needs a hug and some prozac. Also someone explain to the ponytailed chickenhawk that things could be worse. They could've used a far more accurate description.

Flip-Flop Johnson

So, to recap Charles Johnson’s ethical views of the world: Attributing ideas to "Daily Kos" which were written by Kos diarists and commenters and not by Markos -- something Johnson does with great frequency -- is perfectly acceptable and honest. But attributing ideas to "LGF" which were written with frequency by regular LGF commenters but not by Johnson is unacceptable, and doing so makes one a "liar."
Glenn Greenwald comes to the conclusion that Charles Johnson is a hypocrite.

Membership denied

It seems George Galloway's RESPECT party has been rejected for membership to the European Left Party.

I am told that the European Left Party has rejected RESPECT's application for membership on the grounds of the ambiguity of RESPECT's position on gender equality. Moreover, the European Left Party regards RESPECT's commitment to secularism as weak.

[...]

If this report is accurate, the basis upon which RESPECT's application has been rejected can hardly be a surprise to them. It is, after all, a coalition which includes the Muslim Brotherhood, and whose largest single declared donor is Dr Mohammed "Dancing Cows" Naseem, a conspiracy theorist who moonlights as the Home Affairs spokesman of another party which calls for the execution of homosexuals.

It could be those reasons, or it could be the whole "cat' thing on CBB. Who knows?

Fact checking? My, Charles is an ass!

Just a quick note to Chuckles the Clown:

The BBC has photos from today’s anti-cartoon, anti-freedom Islamic demonstration in London; but they have a rather different description of the event: Pro-Islam protests.

And the description provided in their RSS feed makes the BBC’s sympathies even clearer:

Images of the rally against Islamophobia in London’s Trafalgar Square.

Perhaps they called it that because that's what the organisers were calling it? Just an idea.
Thousands of official placards bore the slogans "United against Incitement", "United against Islamaphobia" and "Mohammed - Symbol of Freedom and Honour".
And as for this.....

Note that this demonstration was supposed to show Islam’s moderate, peaceful side. Organizers predicted a turnout of 100,000 people.

They got about 3,000.

Organisers had expected 40,000 and they got approximately 5000 (according to the BBC, Sunday Herald, The Observer, The Telegraph.....and just about everyone else). Nice to see that famous 'fact checking' in operation.

Lenin's Tomb thinks it was definately more.
It was easily much larger than the four thousand being claimed by the media, but probably not the forty thousand claimed by the organisers. At a pinch, and based on previous demonstrations in the same location, I would guess it was around 10-15,000 at its peak. That's a large turnout by anyone'sstandards. And the square was packed, and overflowing, and loud. And what is more, I've noticed the coverage of the protest on teevee appears to be speaking of the putatively low turnout ("only a few thousand") in connection with the organisers' aims of expressing anger about the cartoons in a peaceful manner that represents mainstream Muslims. Well, excuse me, but how many turned out for
the Danish Embassy protest in Knightsbridge last week? The one that caused all the offense and got acres of newsprint and hours of television coverage? A hundred? If that. A small protest organised by a phone-box organisation, and probably half of those were intelligence assets. That's worth media alarm. Thousands of British Muslims denouncing Islamophobia in a dignified and impassioned way and all it's worth is a few seconds, some unflattering footage and a mournful sigh from the journalist. Okay, I get it: if it isn't panto Evil Doers, it isn't news.

How to throw stones in your own glass house

Look at this, via the keyboard of Charles Johnson.

Glenn Greenwald is a liar. I have never said or written such a thing, because that is simply not my opinion. (the first part is true, Chuckles has never written such a thing.....Charles doesn't write much. He leaves it to his racist flunkies in the comment section - Ed) It’s a cheap, sleazy, intellectually lazy smear, setting up a straw man and knocking it down. But that’s par for the course in the dishonest, ethically-challenged childish babbling that passes for leftist “debate” in this modern age.
Speaking of debate. This is what passes for 'debate' on LGF:

  1. A photo of a cliff
  2. Playing the '9/11 card' in response to Al Gore's concerns over US treatment of Arabs
  3. A photo four lines of text about Carrefour's 'ALLEGED' participation in a boycott of Danish products
  4. The usual slurs and biased coverage of an ISM meeting at Georgetown University (whatever happened to freedom of speech?)
  5. The Irish president condemning the cartoons of the prophet Mohammad and the violence they caused. A pretty level headed response to be honest.
  6. Playing the 'race card' by expressing disgust at an Arab company taking over NYC port. So much for the myth that Charles is only anti extremist Muslims and therefore can't be a racist.
.....and so it goes on. LGF is not only ethically childish babbling, but racist opportunistic chickenhawk nonsense.

Pajamas Media's Favorite Hate Cartoonist Is....

Johnson earns his keep with a flurry of posts on the cartoon mess, all designed to prove that billions of enraged Muslims are about to swarm over the ticky-tacky houses, mansions and malls of Merka, C-4 stuffed in every pocket (or orifice, as the minions were speculating). He really gives value for money, you have to give him that. This is also a topic Johnson knows something about, as Mr Spock demonstrated conclusively. After clicking here, click on left sidebar link: "cox & forkum vs the nazis."

It's the Holocaust, stupid

Does Charles actually read what his LGF-bot publishes on the site these days?

We're only asking because of the post that claims "Europe is caving in to the global cartoon jihad" because the editor who commissioned the Muhammad cartoons has been "sent on leave".

Even just a cursory glance at the snippet nicked from the Guardian (evil MSM!) would make it clear that Mr Rose was put on gardening leave because he put forward the stupid idea of republishing Iranian Holocaust cartoons. His editor, who must surely be having a difficult enough time as it is, probably though old Flemming needed a few days - or weeks - to calm down and, more importantly, not give interviews which could see the 'anti-Semitism!' lobby crashing down on him as well.

So, let's just spell this out once more for Charles: Rose had the full support of his editor for publishing the Muhammad cartoons. Rose does not have the full support of his editor for wanting to publish Holocaust cartoons. If in your book not publishing Holocaust cartoons is tantamount to caving in to "the global cartoon jihad"...perhaps you could commission some Auschwitz cartoons from Fox and Cork'em, just to show what an anti-jihadist hero you are, Charlie.

A simple question

Is Charles Johnson a racist? John-Paul Pagano makes some excellent points in Dennis The Peasant's comments section.

Charles is indeed a racist, although he and his lemming horde of followers endlessly dodge the accusation by raising childish, semantic objections to the word. Yes, Islam is not a race. However, Charles's treatment of news regarding Islam is different from, say, neo-Nazi Hal Turner's treatment of news regarding blacks ONLY insofar as Charles is slightly more sophisticated and doesn't use profanity.

If a Muslim is given a parking ticket and there's a news story about it, Charles will post about it and attribute the malfeasance to the Muslim's belief in Islam. (Just as Hal Turner or other racists find examples of black malfeasance and attribute them to the race of the perpetrators.) Ranting Saudi imams are lumped in with serial killers who happen to be named Ahmed, because Islam is evil, and like Dennis Kucinich's mind-control satellites, it makes people do baaaad things.

Charles is just as moonbatty as the moonbats he ridicules, and just as base as the Muslim thugs in French ghettos who look up to Osama. It is a travesty that he operates that cesspool of a blog under the guise of giving a rat's ass about spreading liberal democracy in the Middle East.

Tolerance?

This just takes the biscuit. Israel plans to build 'museum of tolerance' on Muslim graves. How stupid can you get? If the cartoon fiasco proved anything, it proved that offensive actions can cause strife. Can you imagine the LGF style response to a similar news story about Muslims building on top of Jewish graves?

LGF: Australians can do no wrong

Shock horror! A formerly government-owned commodity monopolist turns out to have been paying Saddam bribes in order to get oil-for-food contracts, but neither LGF nor PJM/OSM are covering it. Could this be because the company is Australian, and Australians are our allies in the WoT(TM), and can therefore not be seen to have ever done anything wrong?

Or maybe it's just plain old racism: black man (Kofi Annan's son) involved in scandal, LGF reports it. White man (AWB boss Andrew Lindberg) involved in scandal, LGF doesn't report it.

Pajamas Of Hate by Charles Johnson

Almost everything you need to know about PJ Media honcho Charles Johnson and his self-styled "Lizaroid Minions" is encoded in this post on Pajamas Media flagship Little Green Footballs today.

The backstory:

Jan 12th, '06: Another tragic stampede at Mecca. 343 pilgrims dead, many others horribly injured. Johnson and the minions were thrilled and doubtless aroused. Inspired by LA talkshow host Bill Handel, who made fun of the victims, Johnson invites his minions to join in the mirth, which they do with glee. A tiny sample from regular commenters:

I had 375 in the over/under pool. Guess I lost.
I have 10,000 in my pool. I'm still waiting...

it's sort of like a virus or rats in the sewers.

Win-Win situation. Sadly though, on too-small-a scale.

Not suprisingly, after Handel had imitated the screams of crush victims on the air, a lot of people were upset. Islamic advocacy group CAIR demanded an apology from Handel and radio station KFI. Charles reported it like this:
01/27/06 08:18 AM: CAIR Goes After Handel
Radical Islamic front group CAIR is seething and whining and demanding an apology from radio host Bill Handel for a joke he made about the annual blood sacrifice at the Hajj pilgrimage
Perhaps Squeaky Johnson joined in, when he heard Handel doing the "screaming crushed pilgrim" bit on KFI, Johnson moaning as he googled images of the broken and bleeding bodies: sons, brothers, fathers, grandfathers. That they were Muslim was enough to celebrate the suffering. A few days later, he posts again about the real victim of this tragedy -- Bill Handel:
01/30/06 08:16 AM: Handel Fires Back at CAIR
Los Angeles radio host Bill Handel, currently under attack by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, is refusing to knuckle under: Drudge Report Flash.
Which brings us to today's post. Handel and KFI have belatedly apologized, doubtless fearing economic retribution. Johnson and his minions are outraged. Seething and whining because Handel was "attacked" and had to "cave in" for his "comedy bit".

The one that got away.......

Exclusive news from Chuckles and Pajamaline!

Today at Pajamas Media’s NSA Files blog, we have an extended video segment from the NSA hearings, featuring an interview with Debra Burlingame, sister of Charles Burlingame, the pilot of hijacked Flight 77.
I bet the MSM are gutted they missed that one. Tomorrow they'll be interviewing someone who visited a New York deli on 9/11 and someone who happened to be on the tube in London (and may have seen some swarthy gentlemen) when the bombs went off. They are still hoping to confirm an interview with someone who's brother was on holiday in Spain when the Madrid bombings happened. When all the other (serious) media is getting their fill of experts in constitutional matters and people with insights into conflict between the Presidency and Congress......Pajamas Media gets the sister of the pilot of a hijacked flight 77 to comment on the NSA hearings. Wow.

A Pajamas conspiracy?

Someone over at Dennis The Peasant's blog has an interesting question.

Don't know about cookies but strange sites like these ones seem to be jamming up Technorati all of a sudden....

http://as2paja.blogspot.com/

....are Pajamas up to something?
Indeed, what are these strange sites? Are they anything to do with Pajamas Media?

You think you're clever, everyone else thinks you're a..........

.....(fill in the blank).

Crooks and Liars has fantastic footage of Pajamas Media at its cringe-worthy best. It's like watching a trainwreck in slo-mo. The worst bit? They're actually proud to look that pretentious and pig-ignorant.

Sheer hypocrisy! Thy name is Jyllands-Posten

This will really stir up a hornets nest. So much for the Jyllands-Posten being the standard bearer for freedom of speech!

Jyllands-Posten, the Danish newspaper that first published the cartoons of the prophet Muhammad that have caused a storm of protest throughout the Islamic world, refused to run drawings lampooning Jesus Christ, it has emerged today.

The Danish daily turned down the cartoons of Christ three years ago, on the grounds that they could be offensive to readers and were not funny.

In April 2003, Danish illustrator Christoffer Zieler submitted a series of unsolicited cartoons dealing with the resurrection of Christ to Jyllands-Posten.

Rolled-up Trousers

Osama Saeed at Rolled-up Trousers makes a good point about the lack of proportion or appreciation of priorities in the UK Muslim community.

I've never known the Muslim community to be whipped up like this. I challenged someone who felt passionately about the depiction of the Prophet. Why don't people feel as strongly about extraordinary rendition? Babar Ahmad? 100,000 deaths in Iraq? The wall in Palestine? Guantanamo Bay? The boiling of people alive in Uzbekistan? The massacres in Chechnya? Surely we should be feeding the hungry in Sudan, Niger and Kashmir? And then if we've got time, worry about cartoons?

He replied that the pictures were of an altogether different standing. Really? If you walked into a room, saw your brother being tortured to death, your sister being raped, and a cartoonist making his mischief in another corner, you'd act against the latter first?

Charles and the cartoon hypocrisy

The Blogging Metrosexual makes a fantastic point with regards Chuckles the Clown and his flip-flopping over freedom of speech...

You can't claim Muslims are acting irrationally by being upset that someone had the audacity to do something that truly offended them, for the sake of being offensive in some of the cartoons, while bitching and moaning to the Washington Post and calling for the firing of Tom Toles for printing a cartoon that offended him and some of the JCoS (Joint Chiefs of Staff). It's not the offensiveness of the cartoons, it's the hypocrisy.

Disgusting

Words cannot describe the fanaticism that encourages people that would encite murder over a cartoon (above), and also groups that would picket a funeral of a civil rights activist in God's name (below). Extremist bigots come in many colors, creeds and religious groups. It would serve everyone if we remembered that.

A free pass for criminals

Well this is a brave new frontier for the 'war on terror'. The Israeli government is lobbying the UK government to relax its war crimes law. Obviously this is a move to make it easier for Israeli military officials, for example General Almog, to visit the UK. General Almog is alleged to have ordered the destruction of 59 Palestinian civilian homes in revenge for the death of Israeli soldiers, in breach of the Geneva conventions.

The government is considering weakening laws designed to capture alleged war criminals and torturers who enter Britain, after pressure from the Israeli government, the Guardian has learned.

The changes would bar individuals from seeking international warrants for the arrest of people suspected of serious human rights abuses. The government has confirmed that Israeli officials have lobbied for changes in the law, which has kept some of their military officials away from Britain in case there should be an attempt to arrest them.

'Johnson has not returned calls'

Doesn’t the presence of Footballs make it harder to attract ads to [Pajamas Media]? When asked that question, the otherwise loquacious Simon pulls up short. “I have no comment on that. You should ask Charles,” he said. Johnson has not returned phone calls.

Treating settlers 'like Arabs'

How will they spin this? Settkers in the northern town of Ramallah, living in illegal settlements built on Palestinian private land, riot and attack police and soldiers.

(courtesy of Yoav Lemmer/AFP/Getty Images)

Residents of a West Bank settlement earmarked for demolitions by the Israeli supreme court clashed with police and soldiers attempting to evict them today.

In the first forced eviction in the Palestinian territories since the August 2005 Gaza pullout, hundreds of settlers barricaded themselves behind barbed wire in Amona, to the north of the Palestinian town of Ramallah.

Thick black smoke rose into the air from burning tyres, and settlers pelted police with stones, rocks and eggs.

Soldiers on horseback charged into the crowd, and water cannon were used in an attempt to push back the protesters.

The roofs of the nine homes scheduled for demolition were ringed with barbed wire, with settlers on the ground linking arms against bulldozers carrying police up to rooftop level in their shovels.

Around an hour into the confrontation, police and soldiers had reached the first home, and began tearing down window shutters with crowbars.

They dragged protesters out through the windows as settlers dropped paint balloons and stones on them from above.

At least 40 people were evacuated with injuries, Israeli medics said. Settlers and policeman were among the wounded, and police officials said 16 officers had been hurt.

Two rightwing MPs were injured in the clashes. Arieh Eldad, of the extremist National Union party, told Israel Radio that the police and soldiers were "treating people here like Arabs".
Unlike certain right-wing bloggers it seems that extremist Israeli MP's are far more willing to admit that oppressing Arabs is the norm in the occupied territories.

Onward Lizardoid Morons!

Chuckles Johnson again goes does his best to criticise CAIR (his usual style, not writing a thing), this time reproducing an e-mail in its entirety (that I'm sure would have legal notices about reprinting without permission)offering internships at their organisation.

http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=19031_Internships_Open_at_CAIR_College_Credit_Available&only

Now of course Chuckles would say that he isn't encouraging his mentally retarded comment section chickenhawks to write nuisance and/or offensive e-mails to CAIR.....but of course they undoubtedly will (and admit to it on said thread)

Chuckles gets advice

Jesus' General takes time to write Chuckles Johnson a letter with some nuggets of wisdom here.....and we say "Well done, sir!"
