Sort-of-open thread

As there has been a bit more anti-LGF "chatter" than usual in the interwebosphere lately, we thought this might be a good opportunity to sort-of-open* things up to general discussion about LGF, where it's been, where it's heading, etc.

Here are some topics we'd like some input on:

1. How To Get Banned From LGF: We've heard, anecdotally and otherwise, that Charles' Ban-O-Matic has been in hyperdrive; among the reasons we've heard for bannings are,

  • posting comments that take issue with LGF group-think (obviously)

  • posting "moby"-like comments that Charles think might reflect poorly on LGF

  • posting comments here

  • posting comments at GCP

  • using the LGF search feature to search for comments by banned lizards

What else?

2. Can we really believe that Charles has not taken a single day off from LGF during the past six years? To our knowledge, he has never missed a day since 9/11/01, nor has he ever relied upon guest-posters to fill in when he's not at his keyboard. Maybe he really is that dedicated (or should we say "obsessive"), or maybe he's not fully forthcoming about whether LGF is really a one-man operation. It goes without saying that Charles would never deign to address this issue, what with his mania for secrecy (just try to find out how LGF is funded!), but if anyone has any scuttlebutt, this is the place to share it.

3. Now that Charles has firmly repudiated the neo-Nazi segment of the anti-Muslim brigade, and given his utter contempt for anyone who might even remotely be considered "liberal," how will anyone ever pass his ideological litmus test?

Over to you.

*"Sort-of-open," because due to previous spam-bombings by enraged lizards, we are still forced to moderate comments.

Over at GCP a number of the ex-Lizards believe that either Zombie or even Pamela of Atlas Shrugged was actually "on duty" on the Night of the Long Banning Stick.

Banned for...linking to my site lol

It's just speculation on their part - the claim is "that didn't really sound like Charles posting on date such-and-such", but no evidence other than that. But it's quite possible.

Outside of the comics and sci-fi worlds of total fanboy devotion to an imaginary figure, I have never known anyone so obsessed with the goings on of another person as you all. Seriously creepy.

And you came here to read this thread... why?

There is, of course, no way to know for sure whether Charles really handles 100% of the article-posting, comment-deleting, member-approving, email-answering, and code-writing tasks at LGF 365 days a year, but that's the point... he's always the first to insist on transparency and accountability when it comes to the MSM, so why is he entitled to be held to a lesser standard?

Charles has a doppelgänger:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppelganger

"In the vernacular, "Doppelgänger" has come to refer (as in German) to any double or look-alike of a person—most commonly an "evil twin". The essential meaning of the German word is "doublewalker", someone who is walking the same way as another person. The word is also used to describe the sensation of having glimpsed oneself in peripheral vision, in a position where there is no chance that it could have been a reflection. They are generally regarded as harbingers of bad luck. In some traditions, a doppelgänger seen by a person's friends or relatives portends illness or danger, while seeing one's own doppelgänger is an omen of death. In Norse mythology, a vardøgr is a ghostly double who precedes a living person and is seen performing their actions in advance."

That would explain his Nazi like temperament.

He is entitled to be held to a lesser standard because the Highrises and Babbazees of the world prop his sorry @ss up, that's why.

God, you don't think that Charles actually deigns to read your blog, do you to see which LGFers are commenting here??? He must assign one of the automadroids to do it for him.

Richard, yes he reads this blog. Just last night, in the middle of the Swedish Democrats controversey, he mentioned LGF Watch and how he knew we were discussing the fallout.

I'm sure he is a frequent lurker.

*waves to Charles*

At one point, I was accused of being Charles himself as an agent provocateur, or perhaps his doppelganger.

But actually Charles is MY doppelganger.

Amusement. But I'm not so obsessed that I blog about it.

It's better than reading Page 6 in the NY Post to find out what Lindsey Lohan is up to.

re: #6 nagasaki_hata

Great news, we need more cannon fodder. For Endless Peace, we need Endless War, it's the American Empire Way!

That kind of comment belongs at Daily Kos. Go post there. You're not welcome to spew that kind of idiocy at LGF.

Wow, -41 is a lot. Congratulations! Chuckie on the other hand easily gets that same amount of + points for practically whatever rubbish he posts (35 as of now, and counting)

nagasaki_hata here--- Ha, yes, -41 is a new record low-- and to think I never used that relatively new feature to give either a plus or a negative zing to anyone there! Foolish me, I thought that Oldspeak concept of Free Speech should reign supreme. Now as an "unperson" at LGF all my posts down the ol memory hole, I guess. So be it...I Hate Big Brother, then, now and always.

I will not post here again under my old LGF moniker of nagasaki_hata, so if any lizard tries it, after this it's not me.
Anyway, I had a far longer run there than I thought I would and got in a good number of links to reality based sites, comments a plenty which earned me "troll" and worse status and some subtle mind messings. Along the way, I changed some views and my party but, Charles and Co. went all Orwell and crazed neocon zionist exclusively. Next time I fly my beloved nagasaki hata (fighting kite) I'll think of Charles as the opposing fighting kite and do my best to cut its flight line and set it freefalling to earth. Me Ke Aloha, Charles! HA-HA-HA, nagasaki_hata signing off for the last time. Oh, yes, RON PAUL '08 !!!
