A Sinful Act

Harry over at Harry's Place sums the killing of four Arabs and the subsequent murder of their assailant on his blog.

"A sinful act by a bloodthirsty terrorist" is how Prime Minister Ariel Sharon correctly described the murder of four Israeli Arabs by an extremist deserter from the IDF.

There should be no attempt to "understand" his motivation. Nothing-- absolutely nothing-- justified this horrific crime.

That such a "problematic" soldier was never relieved of his weapon represents a serious failure in IDF procedure. Those responsible should be held to account.

Some on Israel's Israel's extreme-right fringe will attempt to excuse this act, as they did with the murders committed by Baruch Goldstein and Yigal Amir. They deserve-- and will receive-- the contempt of every decent Israeli and every decent supporter of Israel around the world.

Now if Ariel Sharon can condemn this act as a "sinful act by a bloodthirsty terrorist" why can't Charles? Fortunately some of his Lizards seem to have more integrity. In fact he doesn't even mention the murder of innocent civilians in his headline, preferring "Israeli Soldier Lynched After Bus Attack". Can you imagine what Charles would've written if the MSM had described the slaughter of four innocent Israelis as an 'attack'?

Charles, I am 100% pro-Israel and a huge supporter of your site, but you've entitled this post such that the larger story appears to be the lynching, rather than the despicable underlying act that provoked it. In so doing, I fear you may give ammunition to your critics for having displayed the same bias you accuse, quite rightly, the mainstream media of having.

That's not the thread title that I would have used.

I would have gone with something along the lines of "Israeli Right Wing Extremist Goes on Murder Spree; Killed by Angry Mob in Retaliation"

Or something along those lines.

I'm just sayin'.

Yes, that's how they behave, that's what they do, that's why they're called terrorists. That does not make it okay to gun down civilians. At. All. Ever. This is disgraceful.

It makes a nice change to quote voices of moderation from LGF but there are the usual 'Koranimal' slurs and hysteria there in the thread. It's not hard to find.

Charles has now changed the headline to "Israeli Murderer Lynched After Bus Attack". Still can't use the word 'terrorist Charles? Ariel Sharon and the Israeli Police managed it.
