Agree with your assesment Ed...the city should be destroyed...regardless the good, the bad and the ugly, it should be erased.
The sunni's need a course in population reduction, should have happened from day one. To be perfectly honest as depraved as it IS, sunni population should have gone from 20% of the Iraqi population down to 10% and if need be 5%.
The remaining 5% would be allowed to survive, based on their behavior, bad behavior, more reduction. The same goes for the shite population. For what made them behave under saddam was fear of extinction.
That fear, must be instilled back INTO the islamics...ALL islamics.
