It's likely that at some point in the next 24 hours Charles Johnson will use his weblog littlegreenfootballs.com to condemn those who report that 4,000 US soldiers have now died in Iraq.
Why does Charles use human death as an opportunity to blast people whose job it is to report facts? Does he not believe in the First Amendment?
Why does Charles not seem to care about the losses America is taking? Does the life of a US soldier mean nothing to him?
Why does Charles belittle the genuine grief that strikes many Americans on hearing the news that another grim milestone has been reached? Doesn't he care for honest emotions and real patriotism?
There's really only one conclusion to be drawn from Charles Johnson's behaviour: He hates America.

I personally think he probably won't mention anything about it at all. It's not in his advantage to. Probably after reading LGF Watch *waves to Charles*, he'll realize that sensible people will have some legitimate ammo against him.
Charles worries 'The Liberals (TM)' will use these facts to end a reightous war. He does worry about the troops but he feels their deaths are necessary in protecting freedoms. Though his views of freedom are more or less built around the concept of killing those people he unjustifiably hates.
He really isnt a celebrity
.. aaand here it is, the highly caring and sensitive analysis of Charles F. Johnson on the grim milestone:
"The blatantly anti-war wire services are salivating and drooling over yet another “grim milestone” today (searching Google News for the phrase turns up 1,233 results), as military deaths in Iraq reached 4,000—and the most disgustingly ghoulish example is this Associated Press Flash movie, which begins with: “During the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, 2,973 people died.” (..)"
To put it extremely lightly, I probably wouldn't be happy if I were a relative of a fallen soldier and read this.
Also that last part about 9/11 shows how much of a rat's arse CJ actually gives about them.
A quick calculation yields that 1.345-times more troops have died in Iraq than civilians on 9/11.
Judging by the lies the Bush administration resorted to to launch this war, that means just about 1.345-times more unnecessary deaths than on 9/11. I mean sure this is something to at least reflect on and not write off as an insignificant fact blown up by the eeevviil media so they can salivate over (At least this is the impression that CJ, the highly renowned political analyist, gives out).
>> that means just about 1.345-times more unnecessary deaths than on 9/1
1.345 times more unnecessary AMERICAN deaths. You get foreigners for free.
@anonymous: Right. The 1'000'000+ Iraqi deaths doesn't ring a bell to these people any more. And don't get me started about Afghanistan.
"A quick calculation yields that 1.345-times more troops have died in Iraq "
And what school you're studying at again? Maybe you need to take basic math,
1,345 times more troops died than civilians on 9/11 as you claim means:
2,973 * 1,345 = 3,998,685
you need study some math, it is 1,345 more troops died than civilians on 9/11 not 1,345 times more..
On the other hand you claim that 1 million Iraqis died, stop this BS if you are concerned about the truth and not just a hater, Iraqi government, all other counters denied that number which is clearly illogical and shows how stupid are those who believe in that number, unless you believe the media is "eeeevil".
What do you care you about 9/11 , you already minimized 9/11 in another post, and now you claim you care, and that Charles doesn't care.
4000 US soldiers died to do their job, to protect their country and to kill terrorists, they made the world better place and they fight for their freedom and other people freedom, tell me what's your terrorists peers brought to this world beside torture, enslavement, terror, fear?
Anonymous, before you make a complete idiot out of yourself, grab a book on elementary maths and learn about decimal notation.
If you divide 4000 by 2973, you get around 1.345442314 (that's one POINT 34544..). This means 4000 is 1.345442314 times as large as 2973, rounded up to three decimal places gives you 1.345 (which - again - is one POINT 345 and not one thousand three hundred and forty five).
I've taken and passed 6 (Yes, six) advanced mathematics courses in University already. You might as well trust me to know how to handle numbers.

I never minimized 9/11. If you think that it is "minimizing" to point out that there is an incident which has claimed more lives and caused more destruction, then that's your problem. The facts are still against you.
"4000 US soldiers died to do their job, to protect their country and to kill terrorists, they made the world better place and they fight for their freedom and other people freedom."
Well, the dead, displaced and widowed Iraqi civilians will appreciate their country being in ruins because of the invasion, I'm sure.
I also don't recall that you had to resort to lies and false intelligence to put through such a "good" cause, nor that you had to think up of a different excuse each time you were confronted with the illegal nature of this war.

The Sphinx has just shown you to be a complete moron anon. How does it feel to be hoisted by one's own petard?

Charles' attitude is highly reminiscent of Pravda's policy on reporting Soviet casualties in Afghanistan, circa 1985.
