Charles Johnson and his swarm of little green jackholes, certainly well known for their passion for human diversity, just can't stop giggling when they manage to find a photo of a Palestinian student holding up a protest sign in English with bad spelling and grammar. It's also known that lizards like to rip on Palestinians (and Arabs in general) by deliberately referring to them as "Balestinian Beoble", as there is no letter "P" in Arabic. Interestingly enough, the photo links back to the symbol of state-of-the-art high quality journalism, "The Sun" (My condolences to our British readers for this paper).
Alrighty then, while any sensible person will know that sloppy language is no indication for sloppy mentality, least of all when it's not your mother's tongue, we should anyhow take this from another angle:
So Charles, how many foreign languages do YOU have at your disposal to start with? And how about you show us some of your mad Arabic skills while you're at it? Surely you'll do better than the boy in the photo, right? Also there are at least 10 Arabic letters that aren't available in English, and that are very hard to pronounce for any native English speaker. How many of them would you be able to pronounce correctly?

It's so stupid, the kid can read and write in english better than they can in arabic or any other foreign language. heck, I bet the kid knows more about english than some of those idiots.
They poke fun at him because he couldn't spell right? It's amazing that he did such a fine job in a language he learned. He should be commended for his efforts, learning English in a third world country.
I just saw that. Wow, what a great empathy shown for obvious lack of resources, as the mispelled sign is a protest against the closing of a school. I know I'm a linguistics fanatic, but even if Charles is not, you'd think that after running LGF for this long he'd at least have learned Arabic so that he could do his own translations. I haven't the slightest idea if he speaks any language other than English, as he couldn't make out even Dutch or any other Germanic languages. One of his "Lizards" always offers a translation instead and then basks in his praise....LOL.

Ahmed--actually, if you contrast these comments to any stories about Christians in Muslim countries or third world circumstances (especially posts on Palestinian Christians) you get a completely different picture.
There have been numerous posts on LGF about the fact that Bethlehem has few Christians left living there, and the comments about these people are most certainly not ones of mockery.
The fact that they berate the kid for trying his best is pretty piss-poor for supposed adults.
I understand his point, and he's made it well - shortly and succinctly in a second language. Good luck to him, I hope he gets the education he craves - he deserves it. For those that mock, have you read an SMS from a western teenager recently?

I read LGF regularly and I've never seen Palestinians referred to as "Balestinian Beoble". The only place I've seen that is here in this post of yours.
And this post of yours misses the point, which is the continuing manipulation of the media (and their readers) by Palestinians for their own propaganda. Why is that sign in English? Why isn't it in Dutch, or French, or, for crying out loud, in Arabic? Why English? Why are these signs always in English?

Well it's filed in the LGF dictionary under "Terms that probably originated on LGF", where it says though that it is now rarely used. If it made it to the dictionary, especially this category, it must have been used several times already.

First off, if you look carefully at the picture, you'll notice that the boy isn't alone. Most probably the people around him will have signs of their own, and it is more than highly probable that some of them (if not most) will be in Arabic.
But concentrating on one person carrying a sign in English to "prove" that Palestinians heavily rely on propaganda just doesn't cut it. Just like showing a picture of one Palestinian buying a motorbike and thus concluding that Gaza (Which has 80% of its population under the poverty line) is a rich and prosperous place where people exaggerate their plight. Or when finding a few Gazans who pack up and leave to other countries and therefore "proving" that all Gazans want out, so that Israel could 'peacefully' transfer them (Without having to massacre them.. *wink wink*).
If a school is being shut down, then voicing your protest about it is hardly "propaganda". The kid was probably smart enough to know that his sign will reach a wider audience, inside and outside the Arab world, and this is only propaganda if he were lying, and the school will remain open. He wasn't.

Nice try, but they are both correct.
The point here is that Charles chose to post a picture of this Palestinian kid with a sign that attempts to reach English speakers in a protest and chooses to mock him--and then let his hordes post mockery after mockery.
Why mock a kid protesting his school being shut down? For LGF, the only answer is "because he is Palestinian", and I find that pretty sad.
