A different angle

Charles Johnson and his ilk have a burning hatred for the mainstream journalists reporting from Iraq, yet he endlessly pilfers their work to feed his own little green media empire.

Here's a powerful multimedia report from one of the best news organizations in the world on what it's been like reporting from Iraq over the past five years. Warning: not for faint-hearted lizards!

And that was supposed to prove...what?

That the MSM is relentlessly biased because they have to rely on local "field agents" who have an agenda?

Point proven.

That Reuters made a propoganda work against the war for its own purposes?

Point proven.

Is there something else you wanted to 'prove'?

RT:

The idea that anything anyone says is aimed at proving something is obviously so deeply ingrained in you that you can't understand that someone might simply want to report as accurately as possible what they see.

As for whether Iraqis/Arabs/Muslims are automatically biased journalists, does that make every embedded American hack biased in favor of the war?

Hardly the argument I made. That said, maybe I was not clear. Someone is not biased just because they are an Iraqi. But when you get news from local "field agents," then you simply do not know who/what/when/where you are getting. Look at the Jamil Hussein controversy. Yes, a Western reporter might be kidnapped if they get too close to the action. But by that same token, when a reporter follows around jihadists, it likely is because they are jihadists themselves and they "report" the propoganda that is given to them. And Reuters just relies on local agents, hardly vetting what they get at all. This video explained to some degree that system.

I would like to add that this video only contains death and destruction at the hands of what is made to look like American troops. Do you see any footage of jihadists mass murdering? Or of the schools and infrastructure set up by the US troops? No. That is why this is a biased and one-sided report you linked, regardless of whether you wanted to "prove" anything by linking it.

It'll always be a source of ongoing entertainment that you, an avid fan of Little Green Footballs, complain about bias.

Charles Johnson, who is currently evolving into some sort of deity amongst the little green sheep squad, has probably warped all your visions to the extent that reported stories that don't get the LGF seal of approval are just biased, false, evil, or confusing.

Just another reason why the Watch exists..

Yes, CJ is biased and dishonest. So is LGFWatch. And I said repeatedly, it is doing a pitiful job, often making LGF look good.
The best LGFWatch articles were those correcting misinformation and perspective. For example, putting in perspective the significance of lighting the Empire State green for Ramadan - from a kowtowing outrage as presented on LGF to a non-event when explained in context by LGFW.

However, most of the articles are nothing more than anti-Israeli propaganda, biased politics and lies.

MJ will immediately delete posts with homophobic content, but doesn't mind someone posting conspiracy-theories blood-libels against Israel (say, claiming the USS Liberty incident was done on purpose).

And I needn't waste any words about Mister Sphinxter.

And for those who'll chime in and explain that they're merely legitimately criticizing the actions of the Israeli government:
It's the focus on Israel specifically which is the tell-tale sign. Consider infarctions against the Arab people. Even the Palestinian people specifically. Where are the cries against Kuwait? All the countries who abuse the Palestinian constant-refugees? Why where there no calls to create a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria and Gaza when they were in the control of Jordan and Egypt, only after Israel (forced to do so) captured them?

Both numerically and by severity, the crimes done against Arab/Muslims by other Arab/Muslims orders of magnitude higher. Are you really concerned about the Palestinians, or with maligning Israel/Jews?

And that's without even going into whether Israel is justified or not in her actions. My belief is that these actions are all done in self-defense and are not only justified, but ridiculously underpowered compared to how other countries have responded throughout history to similar threats and attacks (can you imagine a UK town being constantly bombarded by rocket attacks from Ireland without the UK putting an immediate and brutal end to it?). But Israel is constrained by the international pressure who favor the oil of the Arab-Muslim world over the preservation of a fellow liberal democratic state. And the propaganda and lies spread about the conflict help ensure this state of affairs can continue.

STVP,

Rocket attacks against Israel are a violent response against a brutal and ruthless occupation of Palestinian land and oppression of a whole population.
If youre suggesting the continuing military occupation of Palestine is justified because of the rocket attacks we can go round in circles all day.

The IRA and others DID commit numerous acts of spectacular violence against the UK. Remember mortar attacks on Heathrow airport? a fatal bomb attack on a Warrington gasworks? Remember the bombing of the Blackpool hotel which almost killed the whole government cabinet? Dont forget the scores of punishment shootings and other violence which happened regularly for decades.

The UK used tagetted assasinations on individuals they thought responsible for any attacks on the UK. I dont remember them demolishing civilian homes with bulldozers, using airstrikes, clusterbombs and 1000lb bombs to completely demolish targets and surrounding buildings in urban areas from 80,000 feet.

I also dont remember the UK government building a 50 foot wall around occupied and ethnically cleansed neighborhoods to consolidate illegal land grabs.

Underpowered?! Self-defense?!

Jesus. Youre nuts.

STOP LYING. There is no 'occupation' in Gaza. The IDF is gone. Israel is not 'occupying' Gaza at all. STOP LYING.

And moreover, you justify aiming rockets at women and children as somehow a 'response' to 'the occupation' that does not exist. It is completely justified to randomly kill, in your warped sense of 'righteousness.' When Israel puts up a wall simple to stop terrorism, that to you is like the Berlin wall. Yet you don't care when 'Palestinians' kill Israelis.

Why, exactly? Because the victims are Jews? Jewish life doesn't matter? I won't go on about how you are an antisemite for clearly thinking that, because that is obvious. Rather, I would like to state how you are clearly Muslimophobic.

You believe Muslims are savages, incapable of thinking for themselves, and somehow not expected to be better than animals, mass murdering Jews. This is expected of Muslims, so when they do it, it's not a big deal. In contrast, Jews are expected to be some sort of superhumans.

Thus, you are a virulent Muslimophobe. I hate Muslimophobia.
