Truly all wingnut patriots should be outraged by statistics like this. This should be stopped.
The Citizens Flag Alliance, a group pushing for the Senate this week to pass a flag-burning amendment to the Constitution, just reported an alarming, 33 percent increase in the number of flag-desecration incidents this year.
The number has increased to four, from three.
Thank God for these brave Americans standing up for four flags. Way to go.

Look, I love the site, love your work, but according to the Citizens Flag Alliance web site, the number of flag desecration acts has actually decreased, from 12 in 2005, to 4 so far in 2006. There were only three in 2004, perhaps that was what he was referring to.
Noted.
12 flags burned is a truly horrific statistic.
(thanks)
12 incidents. At least 22 flags involved. I know it seems like nit-picking, but we (rightfully) spend a lot of time castigating the right for the fact-free nature of their arguments, so I hate to give them any ammunition.
Look, is 22 flags an actual epidemic, as opposed to 12? Of course not. 22 flags desecrated is still not anywhere near enough of a problem to warrant a constitutional amendment. It's still obviously a diversion. A poorly thought-out diversion, at that. Think of how it would have emboldened those awful Islamofascists - they would have had proof that they were getting to us every time they burn an American flag.
