Obama smear-o-matic

Is there anything Charles Johnson will not do in order to smear Obama in any friggin way possible? Apparently not, even if it means reverting to a blatant logical fallacy.

Obama: Bush is Responsible for Chavez (Bzzt! Wrong!)

On Friday Barack Obama spelled out his Latin America policy (it’s just like his Middle East policy—talk to everybody), and inadvertently supplied another example of his stunning ignorance of history and naive foreign policy ideas. The speech is transcribed at the official Obama campaign web site: Renewing U.S. Leadership in the Americas.
"Since the Bush Administration launched a misguided war in Iraq, its policy in the Americas has been negligent toward our friends, ineffective with our adversaries, disinterested in the challenges that matter in peoples’ lives, and incapable of advancing our interests in the region.

No wonder, then, that demagogues like Hugo Chavez have stepped into this vacuum."
This is pathetic. Hugo Chavez came to power during the Clinton Administration, and was first elected President of Venezuela in 1998, two years before the Bush Administration took office.

I don't exactly follow.. Obama never said anything about Bush being responsible for Chavez' election, but rather that Bush's policies have exacerbated the situation between the US and the Venezuelan Leader, as written in the trascript (which you might as well read in its entirety):

No wonder, then, that demagogues like Hugo Chavez have stepped into this vacuum. His predictable yet perilous mix of anti-American rhetoric, authoritarian government, and checkbook diplomacy offers the same false promise as the tried and failed ideologies of the past. But the United States is so alienated from the rest of the Americas that this stale vision has gone unchallenged, and has even made inroads from Bolivia to Nicaragua. And Chavez and his allies are not the only ones filling the vacuum. While the United States fails to address the changing realities in the Americas, others from Europe and Asia – notably China – have stepped up their own engagement. Iran has drawn closer to Venezuela, and just the other day Tehran and Caracas launched a joint bank with their windfall oil profits.

(...)

And we know that freedom across our hemisphere must go beyond elections. In Venezuela, Hugo Chavez is a democratically elected leader. But we also know that he does not govern democratically. He talks of the people, but his actions just serve his own power. Yet the Bush Administration's blustery condemnations and clumsy attempts to undermine Chavez have only strengthened his hand.

Sounds a lot different than saying: "Bush came into power, and BAM, the Venezuelans elected Chavez because of that". Who does he think he's fooling?

But that wasn't all from the lizard king..

UPDATE at 5/25/08 9:15:04 am:

This is far from the first time Barack Obama has been wrong about a simple historical fact.

I’d like to hear him answer some simple questions about world history, to see exactly how much he really does know. No blow-dried media talking head will ever do this, of course, but I suspect people would be in for a real shock if they knew the depths of his historical ignorance.

Examples, Charlie? One would be nice, and would show you actually give a rat's arse about factual accuracy of your statements..

The Third Thread for Tuesday's Primaries

Well, aside from Johnson's gamer-esque attempt at grammatic goofiness (think "Comic-Book-Guy" on The Simpsons--actually, right down to the hair...hmmm), Slightly Less Super Tuesday, Thread the Third, I noticed something earlier noted by The Sphinx. All Johnson adds to the post is one uncertain seeming sentence, "Hillary Clinton has won Ohio...", leaving his Lizards to do the obvious. For those unfamiliar with the obvious on LGF when it comes to this election, I am referring to hurling insults and racial epithets at Barack Obama.

This third thread on the subject has over 1,000 comments so far, none of them left by Charles. The fun really kicks off with the 52nd comment, left by "Chubby Vegan":

re: #41 lawhawk

Oh, and the NAACP might sue to get them seated - even though it would run counter to Obama's interests and help out the candidate who violated the rules - Hillary.

But, that is okay. Because Barak Obama is not Black. He is an Arab American.

I will keep typing that until my fingers bleed.

Unfortunately, there are enough non-"chubby vegan"s registered at LGF to leave enough comments to really give one the true measure of the blatant racism of the Lizards, which has only reached new heights with their hatred of Barack HUSSEIN Obama. Anyone still doubting the wretchedness of these people need only skim through these comments, or probably any of the election threads. Never have I seen such hatred directed at a man for having a Muslim father from Africa.

Sorry, that's not quite true. I have, at the LGF-spawned site Atlas Shrugs. On the TV program "60 Minutes" aired this past Sunday, several Ohio voters were gathered together to discuss the candidates. One man said that his vote for Obama would be a reluctant one. When asked why, he replied that he's heard too many rumors of Obama "being a Muslim", "not swearing on the Holy Bible" and "not knowing the words to our national anthem". When asked where these rumors came from in the same show, Sen. Obama replied that they were spawned from email and internet smear campaigns, and also added that using claims that anyone is a Muslim as a smear tactic is very offensive, especially (obviously) to Muslims. Well, here's that campaign in full "HUSSEIN" ranting swing, courtesy of Charles Johnson.
